Team China in Lisburn, Northern Ireland

I love group photos in that you can find things that one might not know from news articles and official announcements. What’s interesting in these picture is that most of the WAG coaches are present in Northern Ireland! YES! ^_^

These coaches are not on the official roster submitted to the Olympic committee. The submitted list of traveling coaches only includes coaches Lu Shanzhen, Wang Qunce and Xu Jinglei, which had me worried for a while. It appears that the unlisted coaches also traveled with the team to help out with training their own athletes. Huang Qiushuang’s coach Wang Limin is there, He Kexin & Tan Sixin’s coach Liu Guicheng is there, and so is Jiang Yuyuan & Deng Linlin’s coach Xiong Jingbin ^.^ Now that’s a happy family Y(^_^)Y

Team China Olympic Uniform

Standard red, white and yellow like we’ve seen for the past century…  I’m kinda bummed that the national team does not send out the girls for these kind of public relations activities :S

China’s Olympic Opening Ceremony Uniforms Unveiled

I like it! Well, except for Chen Yibin’s shoes, why won’t he wear a pair of white ones?! It’s so much better than that cheap looking red and yellow mess from 2008… I still cringe every time I see a picture of it…

MAG Team Trains in Tianjin

As part of their physical training, the Chinese MAG team has temporarily moved to Tianjin. This is the final environmental change training before the Olympics designed for the gymnasts to adapt to new environments; to train both physically and mentally, and to prepare them for the Olympics.  The team will leave for Northern Ireland next month trainning for the Olympic games in London.

The Chinese MAG Olympic Team: Zou Kai, Chen Yibing, Zhang Chenglong, Teng Haibin and Feng Zhe. Alternates Guo Weiyang and Yan Mingyong.

With the Olympics being less than two months away, the National Team is in total lock-down mode if that’s the right word to use.  Reports say the coaches sent home most of the B-team and provincial gymnasts that are not in contention in making the Olympic team, and only the Olympic training squad members remained in the gym. They keep the girls close and without distractions from their friends.  The national team is being so secretive these days; fans haven’t gotten any news or gossips on their training for a while (T.T) I think some of the gymnast are still training brand new skills, at least Zhang Chenglong is according to his Weibo. I can only hope no one gets injured in the training process before the Olympics (>_<)
I am hoping this period of no news means good news for Team China. My positive thinking (delusional perhaps?) tells me China is just playing mind games with the world.  I wish the best for all the gymnast and I’m praying for no injuries. ^.^
